Early on in my sales and marketing career, I was 'schooled' by a very wise mentor of mine who has since passed away.  He brought decades of success in sales, marketing, and research ~ and still maintained some of his earliest clients as good friends many years later.  Bill explained that you were blessed with twice as many ears as you were mouths for a very good reason ~ you ought to be listening to your clients, family, and friends at least twice as much as you were talking!  Good advice that I will never forget.
